Liberman: The Artist in his Studio Exhibition (Reception & Talk)

Celebrate and admire the works of Alexander Liberman in the galleries and on the grounds this fall. Liberman explored photography, painting, and sculpture in his career, and served as the editorial director for Condé Nast magazine. We will feature a number of sculptures and a photography exhibition used for his publication, The Artist in His Studio (1960). Pyramid Hill visitors best know Liberman for Abracadabra in the park's outdoor sculpture collection. The instructor, Andrea Walker, will guide participants through experiments with many new materials. This workshop will focus on Holbein's Watercolor, Gouache, and Acrylic Gouache, as well as Legion's 100% cotton Stonehenge Aqua White and Black papers, Yupo white paper, and an assortment of General Pencil materials. Gigi Gatewood Artist Lecture

Bearing Witness, Over Everything, Untwined/Interwoven, and Depth of Field, are part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View. Now in its eighth iteration, the Biennial activates over 70 exhibitions at museums, galleries, universities, and public spaces throughout Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Northern Kentucky. This October, the Art Academy of Cincinnati (AAC) will be a destination for the Biennial, presenting four exhibitions and five free public events featuring internationally recognized artists, AAC alumni, and emerging student artists and curators. Across four campus galleries, FotoFocus at AAC explores photography as a means of documenting history, preserving memory, examining the present, and imagining what comes next. New York photographer Gigi Gatewood presents an artist talk about her work and practice. This event is part of AAC’s FotoFocus events and is part of the Bella, Ziva D, and Sinclaire Artist Lecture Series. The exhibitions will be open to the public October 9–31, 2026, at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Admission is free.
