smART session: The Art of Non-Alcoholic Cocktails
Presented by Wyoming Fine Arts Center at The Wyoming Fine Arts Center Cincinnati, OH
Learn the history of spirit-free libations and their growing cultural significance in today's beverage world. Led by a nationally recognized bartending expert Kiki Avalos-Gould, and the creative force behind downtown Cincinnati's Fifty Fifty Gin Club, a Top 30 World Class Bartender, and the 2024 Tastemaker of the Year. They will explore with you the history, tools, techniques, and principles behind crafting exceptional non-alcoholic cocktails at home while you get to experience the art, flavors, participate in thoughtful discussion, and the chance for some hands-on infusion creation. Dates: October 20 Registration Deadline: October 16 8:00a Time: 6 to 8:30p Ages: 21+ Instructor: Kiki Avalos-Gould Location: Wyoming Fine Arts Center What this smART session will entail: Learn about the history of NA cocktails from an expert and engage in discussion. Learn about how to use bar tools and equipment. Taste 2-3 NA cocktails that each highlight a particular technique or ingredient. With each, talk about the basic recipe and how to artfully put a creative spin on it. Students will learn how to put their own personal touches on recipes. Learn how to make an infusion. October Ambient Jam
Presented by The Well at The Well Cincinnati, OH
Ambient Jam is a free community gathering facilitated by members of Innerspace Collective for creating relaxing, ambient sounds in a supportive, judgment-free, and collaborative space. Inspired by the practice of deep listening and artists like John Cage and Brian Eno, participants are invited to explore gentle sounds through play and presence—no musical experience needed. Guests are welcome to join in or simply listen. Chairs, mats, and cushions will be provided. All are welcome. What to Bring: An instrument or sound-making object of your choice, or simply your own voice. Limited electric outlets are available, but please bring your own extension cords or power strips. Acoustic instruments are great too! Please note the intention to create relaxing, ambient music and sounds. Parking: There is both metered and free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Gilbert Ave, E McMillan, Curtis St, and Copelen St are all the closest street parking options. Metered parking is FREE for this event. There are three paid parking lots (marked in the red squares on the image below) at the Hannan ArtPark, by ETC Produce, and at ABM Parking lot by PNC Bank that are a short walk from the building. Emma Nissen is a 23-year-old jazz-pop phenom who became known for her “Jesus and Jazz” style after a reel of her scatting on her Christian song “Breathe” went viral in late 2023. Since then, thanks to her timeless voice and lovable personality, her videos have amassed over 100 million views, taking her Instagram following from under 10k to over 400k in under six months.
