Darius Rucker: Songs of Summer Tour 2026
Presented by Riverbend Music Center at Riverbend Music Center Cincinnati, OH
Three-time GRAMMY Award winner Darius Rucker hits the road this summer with his 20-city Songs of Summer Tour, bringing his signature baritone voice and fan-favorite hits to amphitheaters and iconic venues nationwide. The 2026 trek will make a stop in Cincinnati, OH at Riverbend Music Center on Friday, June 26 featuring special guests Lauren Alaina and Austin Williams. “For me, it’s not summer if we’re not playing music outdoors,” says Rucker. “When I think of the concerts I love attending, it’s the people, the hits and the hot summer air… there’s nothing that compares, so Songs of Summer in a lot of ways is my nod to being in that moment together.” Rucker also recently announced a one-night-only Big Band Gala at Charleston’s Gaillard Center on April 7. Presented by Explore Charleston, the performance offers fans a rare opportunity to experience Rucker in an elevated, intimate concert setting backed by Robert Lewis and the Charleston Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Peter Graves. A portion of proceeds will benefit the CMA Foundation’s music education initiatives for Charleston County Schools and the Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. Rucker first achieved multi-Platinum status in the music industry as lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the GRAMMY Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish, who have sold more than 25 million albums worldwide including their Double Diamond-certified (22x Platinum) debut Cracked Rear View, which remains among the top 10 best-selling studio albums of all time. Since releasing his first Country…

Black Odes: A Reclamation Suite
Presented by Summermusik at ARCO Cincinnati, OH
In the 19th century, Black Codes were laws designed to restrict the liberty of Black people. They were heavily enforced shortly after the American Civil War, and ran the gamut of social and cultural wrongdoings: voter suppression, banning access to education, planting the seeds for the prison industrial complex, and worse. The effects of such laws still resonate through the lives of every American today. Black Odes: A Reclamation Suite is a passionate and antithetical shift in worldview from that reality; a musical, poetic and visual celebration of a world in which the values of beauty, joy and liberty are not only a goal, but a living reality. It is a multi-disciplinary expression of what it would be like to actually live fully in America’s promise. The Urban Art Ensemble: Scott Woods – Poet Edwin Bayard – Tenor & Soprano Saxophone Dr. William Menefield – Piano Dean Hulett – Bass Dr. Mark Lomax, II – Drum Set, Composer DJ Krate Digga – Turntables This project is supported by the generosity of tens of thousands of contributors to the annual ArtsWave Campaign, the Cincinnati region's primary source for arts funding. From Rocking to Rolling: An Introduction to Mezzotint
Presented by Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center at Manifest Drawing Center Cincinnati, OH
This workshop introduces intaglio printmaking through mezzotint, a centuries-old process known for its rich, velvety tonal range—unlike any other black-and-white medium. Currently experiencing a renewed interest among contemporary printmakers, mezzotint offers a direct and highly tactile approach to image-making. Participants will work through the full process, from preparing and rocking the copper plate to inking and printing. As a non-acid method of intaglio, mezzotint provides a safer alternative to traditional etching while maintaining a high level of technical and visual sophistication. The workshop will cover core techniques including plate preparation, rocking, scraping, burnishing, and the use of roulettes, along with printing procedures and ink handling. Emphasis will be placed on value, tonal structure, and the development of imagery through light and dark. Open to both beginners and more experienced artists, this workshop is ideal for those interested in expanding their understanding of printmaking through a focused, process-driven approach. Participants are encouraged to bring drawings, sketches, photographs, or other source material to work from. About the Instructor: Art Werger is widely recognized as a master of intaglio printmaking, working primarily in etching and mezzotint. His prints construct cinematic, narrative spaces that position the viewer as an omniscient observer—often from elevated or oblique vantage points—resulting in images that are at once voyeuristic and deeply intimate. Through careful control of tone, Werger builds his compositions from black to white, gradually illuminating both the image and its implied narrative. His work invites interpretation, encouraging viewers to project their own experiences and memories into scenes…
