MIKE CRONIN presented by Commonwealth Comedy Club
Presented by Commonwealth Comedy Club at Commonwealth Comedy Club Dayton, KY
Comedian Mike Cronin is a self-deprecating smart, dumb guy who happens to also be a fantastic writer with a truly original voice. Mike spent several years honing his craft at clubs and colleges near his hometown of Cincinnati before relocating to Chicago, where he hosts the popular showcase, “Best Night Ever.” Mike performed at the inaugural Limestone Comedy Festival, The Boston Comedy Festival, 10,000 Laughs Festival and has opened for Bo Burnham, Tommy Johnagin, and Tom Segura. When their schedules permit, Mike and a rotating group of his closest friends in stand-up tour nontraditional venues as the Best Buds of Comedy. Along with Best Buds tourmate and frequent collaborator Alex Stone, Mike co-wrote and co-directed the music video for “The Hipster Song,” which has been viewed over 900,000 times on YouTube. After attending one of Mike’s live shows, the New Times Broward-Palm Beach raved that his “testosterone-friendly jokes about beards, lazy masturbation, and sh**ting his pants were presented so deftly, he even had the ladies laughing.” Mike is pretty sure that was meant a compliment. He is currently on the road to support his debut album “Hot For Too Long” (Rooftop Comedy Records), which premiered in the top five of iTunes’ comedy album charts. Commonwealth Comedy Club is Cincinnati’s home for exquisitely curated live entertainment. Each week we bring you hilarious stand-up comedians, intimate concerts, unique theater productions, live podcast recordings, and so much more. Embodied Book Club - April 5th
Presented by The Well at The Well Cincinnati, OH
Join The Well in their Walnut Hills space for a free book club. Meet for an approachable dive into a book, discussing a highlighted and provided selection (in case you can't read the entire book) while also learning and exploring somatic practices inspired by the book. For our fourth session, author Rob Dorgan will be presenting his novel Awakening the Mystic: A Novel of Cosmic Love and Healing. Yoga teacher Ren Devlin’s life is forever changed after he performs what the world proclaims to be a “miracle” in front of hundreds of shocked onlookers. Lauded as a spiritual healer, Ren is thrust into the limelight, along with his beloved life partner, Sean. Ren seeks answers through deep meditation, during which he encounters his “council”—the gods and goddesses of the zodiac—who steer him down a path of spiritual healing. To find peace, Ren must face the negative views that his childhood religion of Catholicism has toward the LGBTQ+ community and women, battle his own ego, and come to terms with his fear of death and being alone without Sean. Awakening the Mystic is an exploration of higher consciousness, the practice of yoga and meditation, and a journey to discover what love and healing really mean.
