Michael Dunbar: New Works Exhibition Reception
Presented by Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum Hamilton, OH
Join sculptor Michael Dunbar, creator of the monumental piece in Pyramid Hill's outdoor collection, Euclid’s Cross, for the exhibition opening of his latest works, including many pieces that have never been shown publicly. Reception will include a conversation with the artist himself, refreshments, and small bites. This project is supported by the generosity of tens of thousands of contributors to the annual ArtsWave Campaign, the Cincinnati region's primary source for arts funding. ARTS & DRAFTS, Pottery Classes at HighGrain Brewery : APRIL

ArtsConnect partners with HighGrain Brewery on Wednesday to offer a variety of ArtsConnect art workshops from some of their gifted instructors. The first Wednesday of the month is Pottery Projects and the third Wednesday of the month is Make It, Take It Projects. Enjoy a beer on tap or a glass of wine while creating art! Food and drinks are available for purchase but are not included in the workshop price. Pottery Projects 1st Wednesday of the Month 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Pottery Projects vary from glazing a pre-made pottery piece or creating your own hand-built clay mug. In hand-building you will sculpt a clay mug. Select a glaze color and the instructor will glaze it once it has been fired. After your piece is fired, you can pick it up at ArtsConnect. NKU Percussion Ensemble

The NKU Percussion Ensemble will be presenting a free evening of music exploring staple works from John Cage, John Psathas, George Hamilton Green, and Nathan Daughtrey. Numerous metal instruments come together to create John Cage’s First Construction (in Metal), from tuned pipes, to anvils, brake drums, and a prepared piano. Mindful Poetry Virtual Gathering (Free) - April 1st, 2026

Each year during April for National Poetry Month, The Well holds virtual space for poets and poetry lovers for an hour of nourishing community and creativity. The format is simple. In each session, we meditate, consider a single poem, receive a prompt, write, and then share with the group. Poems generated by attendees during this session can be submitted for publication in our 7th edition of the Mindful Poetry Moments anthology! This year's poems have been curated by Eddie Gonzalez. In this session... Poem: “Heliophilia” by Aimee Nezhukumatathil Mindfulness Facilitator: Eddie Gonzalez Poem Facilitator: Pádraig Ó Tuama Come with a pen, paper, and an open heart. And keep in mind that this is a family-friendly offering. Please arrive on time. Participants will learn how to use all of the equipment in the shop with the exception of the router table, mortiser and lathe. Important safety rules will be emphasized. Participants will practice on the equipment and then make a small toolbox tote with a handle. The instructor will guide students through the steps of designing, building and finishing their projects. The goal of the class is for students to gain confidence on the equipment so that they may eventually work independently in the shop. This class is a prerequisite for advanced woodshop and mandatory for using the woodshop during open studio time unsupervised. All Supplies are included. Creative Writing Event | “Why We Write; Cultivating a Writers Mind” | April 2nd, 2026 | 6:30pm This free, community workshop will help you gain a better understanding of why we write, learn to open our “writer’s mind” to the inspiration around us, and engage in prompt writing. Guests can expect to discuss a reading, have writing opportunities with prompts, and participate in optional group sharing. Michael Georgilis (he/him) is a local Cincinnati writer and community volunteer. In addition to earning his degree in English and Creative Writing from Centre College, he is the co-editor of the upcoming community anthology We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident, and an active board member at the Women Writing for (a) Change organization. The Rooftop Sessions: Phil DeGreg Trio

The Phil DeGreg Trio has been a recognized performing group and mainstay of the jazz scene in southern Ohio since 1988. From 1991 to 2007 they accompanied many national and international jazz artists in at Cincinnati’s famous Blue Wisp Jazz Club and were in residence at the Dee Felice Café in Covington, Kentucky every Sunday until its close. They have received two of the Cincinnati Enquirer’s prestigious “Cammy” Awards and five CityBeat Cincinnati Entertainment Award nominations in the jazz category. The trio performs in many styles ranging from jazz and Brazilian classics, to contemporary remakes of Beatles and Stevie Wonder music. In the Greater Cincinnati area, the Phil DeGreg Trio has performed in countless jazz concerts at Xavier University, CCM, the Public Library, on Fountain Square, and many churches, retirement communities and other venues. You can hear their recording of Harold Arlen’s “Come Rain or Come Shine” as the theme music for WVXU’s “Around Cincinnati” program every Sunday night. The current trio has been together for eleven years, and includes bassist Aaron Jacobs and drummer John Taylor, both highly in-demand players and on the faculty of CCM.
