Beginner Quilting : 6 WEEKS : MARCH - APR
Presented by ArtsConnect at Sew Many Things Cincinnati, OH
Dina will teach the basics of quilting from how to sew using a machine, cut fabric, and plan a patterned design. You will use a sewing machine and learn basic hand stitches. Use state-of-the-art machines and quilting equipment. Please provide your own fabric. Fabric may be purchased at the Sew Many Things studio if desired. Students will make a quilt top using a specific pattern. $130 non-member / $117 member Quilting is a great way to learn to sew. Each session will feature a different theme creating unique quilted works of art. Students are asked to bring various items based on the class project theme. ArtsConnect offers beginning and intermediate quilting classes. Both classes are held offsite at Sew Many Things in Wyoming. ArtsConnect is honored to partner with Dina Jacquemin of Sew Many Things, LLC in Wyoming. She is an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Classes are held at Sew Many Things in downtown Wyoming. You will be using state-of-the-art equipment. Sew Many Things provides an excellent sewing environment with state-of-the-art sewing machines, ironing machines, cutting stations, and much more. *Fabric is available for purchase on location or students may bring their own. ***Sew Many Things is NOT Handicapped Accessible. Kids Sewing: 6 classes : MAR - APR

Ages 8 - 13, Mondays, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. $80 for non-members per 6-week session / $72 for members per 6-week session This class is for kids of all levels. For beginners, students will make simpler projects developing their skills. Those that are more advanced will do appropriate higher-level projects. Projects will be individualized based on each student's level of experience. All supplies are included, yet children are welcome to bring any fabrics they would like to use. Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours. Class Structure: Kid's Sewing classes are taught in the Cardinal Room of ArtsConnect Community ArtsCenter (the building behind the fire station). No class week of Thanksgiving. All supplies are provided. Classes are held at Springfield Township ArtsConnect, 9158 Winton Rd, Building B ( building is behind the fire station). She has taught all levels from PreK through adults in various educational environments. She received her BS in Fine Art and Art Education from the College of Mount St. Joseph and MA from the Cincinnati Art Academy. Kerri utilizes her creative skills to inspire students with an opportunity to develop media mastery in the arts. She is a nurturing art instructor that uses a variety of motivations to introduce students to each project creating a stimulating learning environment. Kerri hopes to “infuse into others, the passion that I have for reading, understanding and communicating through the use of signs and symbols to communicate concepts that are both personal and universal.” Kerri teaches the ArtsConnect Preschool Pottery, Kids and Adult Hand-building and Kids Drawing Painting classes. WATERCOLOR : 6 classes : MAR - APR

Whether you are curious about watercolor painting or would like to hone the skills you already have, you can explore the soft flow of watercolor in this class. In each class, a new painting and watercolor technique will be taught using a new image. Participants will learn how to paint the image through a demonstration and will be introduced to color theory, various mixing and glazing techniques, composition, and assorted subject matter. It is recommended that participants have some experience with representational drawing. We offer Watercolor on two different days, Tuesday and Wednesday, both held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Tuesday's class is geared toward anyone new to Gary Brooks's classes. Wednesday's class is for Advanced and for those that have been coming for a while.
