Discover the delicious art of tamale making in this hands-on class with Chef Lilly designed for teens and adults. You’ll learn how to prepare traditional masa from scratch, create a rich and flavorful red chile sauce, and combine it with slow-braised pork butt to make authentic homemade tamales. From filling and wrapping to steaming, you’ll master each step of the process while gaining practical kitchen skills and confidence. To round out the meal, you’ll also prepare hearty charro beans and bright, tangy pickled red onions, perfect accompaniments to your freshly made tamales. Cinematics - Digital Puppetry & Scene Design October 27 - November 10 Create 2D virtual puppets and environment pieces using simple pixel art and generative tricks. Put them together on a virtual stage to create a scene with depth and motion. Use a timeline to set key frames for animating virtual characters and controlling your virtual camera while Godot draws the frames to create a finished animation movie file. Music Theory - Game Tracks July 28 - August 11 or November 17 - December 8 Learn how to make your own video game music loops using the free version of FL Studio. Through step-by-step teaching, students will put together simple patterns to make unique music. Combine virtual drums, guitars, and orchestra to create beats, chords, and melody for your video game music track. Sound Effects - Record, Remix, & Runtime September 1 - 15 Learn how to develop a creative story for your video game. Use short story segments to flow from one function to the next, allowing the player to make choices in how the story ends. Interactive Dialogue & Structure September 22 - October 6 Record sounds from the real world, then bring them into FL Studio to process, mix, and modify them to fit the video game. Deploy them into the game using things like event listeners, positional audio, variant generation, and volume control.

Kids Cooking 6 Classes : SEPT - OCT

Ages 7 - 13, Tuesday 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm $100 for non-members per 6-week session $90 for members per 6-week session Our program uses the successful cooking curriculum, Edible Education. A new menu will be featured each session. Students will learn about food safety and how to make wise food choices in recipes. Students will learn to prepare a dish each class and share it with their friends. During the 6-week session, students will learn to make main dishes, sides, snacks, deserts and drinks using fresh ingredients. Each class will introduce a specific food item, it's origin and health benefits. They will follow along with the instructor in preparing the food and then enjoy tasting it afterwards. They will take home the recipe so they can prepare it for family and friends. At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom. WATERCOLOR : 6 classes : SEPT-OCT

Whether you are curious about watercolor painting or would like to hone the skills you already have, you can explore the soft flow of watercolor in this class. In each class, a new painting and watercolor technique will be taught using a new image. Participants will learn how to paint the image through a demonstration and will be introduced to color theory, various mixing and glazing techniques, composition, and assorted subject matter. It is recommended that participants have some experience with representational drawing. We offer Watercolor on two different days, Tuesday and Wednesday, both held from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Tuesday's class is geared toward anyone new to Gary Brooks's classes. Wednesday's class is for Advanced and for those that have been coming for a while.
