Music With Madcap: The Gingerbread Man (Eastgate)

Mindful Poetry Young Professionals Gathering - April 9th, 2026
Presented by The Well at The Well Cincinnati, OH
This year during April for National Poetry Month, The Well is holding space for Cincinnati-based Young Professionals for an evening of nourishing community and creativity in their Walnut Hills space. The format is simple. In each session, we meditate, consider a single poem, receive a prompt, write, and then share with the group. Afterward, we invite attendees to remain for a half hour of fellowship. Poems generated by attendees during this session can be submitted for publication in our 7th edition of the Mindful Poetry Moments anthology! This year's poems have been curated by Eddie Gonzalez. CCM Play: Antigone

Antigone By Sophocles A collaboration with UC Classics Department Anna Conser, Brant Russell and Samuel Stricklen, directors As Antigone mourns her brothers who have murdered each other in a civil war, she must decide if she will sacrifice her life to balance the scales of justice. Her victorious brother is posthumously exalted; her treasonous brother is left unburied by order of King Creon, Antigone’s uncle and adversary. Antigone deliberately defies the king’s edict and buries her traitorous brother, igniting a devastating chain of events and thrusting urgent questions of justice to the fore. The performance features Greek choral odes written by CCM Composition Professor Ellen Harrison. Oil Painting: 6 WEEKS MARCH-APRIL

Oil paints are rich, vivid and vibrant. There are certain techniques that artists use in order to be successful with this beautiful medium. Whether you have never painted with oil paint or are just dusting off your brushes, this is the class for you! Our expert instructor, Chris Taulbee will guide you with step-by-step instruction on how to use oil paint materials. With your first painting, you will learn how to work with a three-color palette, how to mix color, how to show lights and darks to create dimension, and how to shade seamlessly from one shade to the next. In the last two weeks of the session, we will either create another guided still-life painting or you may stretch your wings and do a painting of your own choice. Our instructor will go from easel to easel, offering assistance and giving advice. Class Structure: Classes will be held once a week, for six- week sessions. This program is ideal for beginners, as well as advanced students. Some drawing abilities are helpful. Class members are asked to bring their own paint supplies.
