TAI CHI 6 classes: MAR - APR

Ages 14 - Adult Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. $100 for non-member / $90 for member Learn from the best! Sensei Jeff Moran has been teaching Tai Chi for over 25 years. Sensei Jeff is a lifetime member of PKC Tajuwuka Kai-Do Kemp and 3rd Dan Belt. He was inducted into Sokeship Warriors Council Hall of Champions for a lifetime of dedication to Martial Arts. This Tai Chi class will go through the basics steps and poses in Tai Chi. Classes consist of 20 - 30 minute warm-ups and then move into mind-body practice. Students will learn the meditative quality and health benefits of Tai Chi. This is a rigorous work out in addition to being a meditative practice! Classes are located at ArtsConnect Springfield Township Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station. Register for a full session or come when you can and pay a drop-in fee of $20 the day of class. Preschool Art : 6 WEEKS : MARCH - APR

Ages 4-6, Wednesday, 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. $75 for non-members / $67.50 for members All Supplies Included Projects will be age appropriate and designed for little ones. Students will do drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Each class will be a different art medium. They will use materials such as, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolors, cut paper and found objects to create their artwork. All supplies included. Classes take place at the ArtsConnect Springfield Township Community Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station. At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom. During class, we invite you to enjoy our free Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating areas indoors and outdoors. INTRO TO CLAY: 6 WEEKS: MAR - APR

Ages 15 and older Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. $165 for non-members per 6-week session $150 for members per 6-week session Two weeks will focus on basic hand-building techniques of slab, coil and pinch. While three weeks will give you experience in centering and throwing on the pottery wheel. The final class will be used for glazing. Materials included: 25 lb clay, glaze, firing and use of tools and wheel.

Intermediate Quilting : 6 WEEKS : MAR - APR

Ages, 14 - adult Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. $130 non-member / $117 member Some techniques include: machine appliqué, advanced piecing and much more! (Some sewing/quilting experience required). Use state-of-the-art machines and quilting equipment. Please provide your own fabric. Fabric may be purchased at the Sew Many Things studio if desired. Students work independently on their own projects. ArtsConnect is honored to partner with Dina Jacquemin of Sew Many Things, LLC in Wyoming. She is an accomplished quilter and seamstress. Classes are held at Sew Many Things in downtown Wyoming. You will be using state-of-the-art equipment. INTRO to WOODSHOP : APR : Evening

Introduction to Woodshop teaches the basics of woodworking in 3, 3-hour classes. Participants will learn how to use all of the equipment in the shop with the exception of the router table, mortiser and lathe. Important safety rules will be emphasized. Participants will practice on the equipment and then make a small toolbox tote with a handle. The instructor will guide students through the steps of designing, building and finishing their projects. The goal of the class is for students to gain confidence on the equipment so that they may eventually work independently in the shop. This class is a prerequisite for advanced woodshop and mandatory for using the woodshop during open studio time unsupervised. All Supplies are included. Creative Aging Painting - Wednesday
