Fourteen Funerals

When Sienna receives a cryptic call about the untimely deaths of distant relatives in Blissfield, Indiana, she finds herself unexpectedly tasked with delivering eulogies for family members she’s never met. What begins as a peculiar obligation soon transforms into a journey of self-discovery and unexpected friendship with Millie, the quirky funeral home receptionist. This witty and heartfelt new play explores themes of identity, connection, and the stories we inherit. With sharp dialogue and poignant moments, Fourteen Funerals offers a comedic yet touching look at the ties that bind us, sometimes even after death. Weston Works Art Challenge

The Weston Works Art Challenge returns for the fourth year! The Weston Art Gallery is once again encouraging creativity and upcycling with our repurposing project, in which our past marketing materials (such as previous seasons’ brochures, envelopes, and cards) are used to make new art to be exhibited in the gallery. Come and check out what local creatives of all ages and abilities have made. #westonworks This year Mill Creek Alliance provided bonus materials for artists to use. Teen Digital Character Design

Ages 13 - 17 Instructor: Sarah Hynfield $95/members, $115/non-members Tuesdays | 6:15 – 8:15pm Spring: March 10 - April 14 Want to bring your OC to life? Whether you love the aesthetic of anime and manga, graphic novels, or even cartoons - you’ll want to start with the basics! Learn how to draw characters from the ground up. Gain a better understanding of how to sketch human anatomy and create engaging line art using digital tools. Course aspects include learning how to draw a body by breaking it down into simple shapes, practicing specific poses and expressions, adding unique hair and clothing styles, and adding color to a drawing. By the end of the session students should be able to create a full-body character of their choice. All supplies including technology provided, though students may bring their own iPad and Apple Pencil if desired. During this class students will create two small mosaics: one floral arrangement, and one landscape. Learn to make dimensional flowers using stained-glass, beads, and adhesives. Discover how to break down a scenic design to create a background, middle ground and foreground- then construct layers using several mosaic techniques to create a dynamic mini landscape. Intermediate Wheel : 6 WEEKS MARCH - APRIL : Tuesdays

Ages 15 & older, 6-week sessions $165 for non-members/ $150 for members All Supplies Included: Mondays, 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. ArtsConnect offers pottery wheel classes for all levels: Intro, Intermediate and Advanced. Start with the Intro and progressively get better! Intro to Wheel, teaches participants the basics of throwing clay on a pottery wheel. Students will learn important pottery studio rules and procedures used in all of our pottery classes. Intro to Wheel class is mandatory for those wanting to buy a pottery studio pass to use the studio during open times. This class will help students refine their centering skills, learn to throw larger items and work on attachments such as handles and lids. Materials Included: 25 lb clay, glaze, firing and use of tools. Intermediate to Wheel is offered twice a week, Monday mornings and Thursday evenings. Once students have mastered the basic skills of the wheel then move to our Advanced Wheel class. The Advanced Wheel class offers more challenging and advanced techniques. Participants must be proficient in centering, have taken Intermediate Wheel or have instructor recommendation. The cost of each pottery class includes all supplies. Supplies provided are: 25 lb white clay, glazes, all the firing needed, and the use of our clay tools. Kids STEAM - ART & SCIENCE : 6 WEEKS MARCH - APR

Ages 7 - 13, Tuesdays 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. $80 for non-members / $72 for members Projects vary based on the topic. Use a variety of materials and create projects such as kaleidoscopes and light-up wands to learn about light, color, and engineering. Create mobiles and learn about wind technology. Explore the Fibonacci Sequence and repetition found in nature. Watch what happens when you mix oil and water to create beautiful marbleized papers. These and so much more! All supplies included. Classes are held at the ArtsConnect building, 9158 Winton Rd (building behind the fire station). At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom.
