Disaster! The Musical
Presented by Cincinnati Landmark Productions at Warsaw Federal Incline Theater Cincinnati, OH
It's 1979, and a crazy cornucopia of A-listers are lining up for a night of hilarity aboard a floating casino and discotheque! There’s a faded disco star, a sexy singer with her 11-year-old twins, a disaster expert, a feminist reporter, an older couple with a secret, a pair of young guys looking for ladies, an untrustworthy businessman and a nun - with a gambling addiction. What begins as a night of boogie fever changes to a gleeful panic as they endure wacked-out disasters, such as earthquakes, tidal waves and infernos – plus killer rats! Featuring hit songs of the '70s like “I Will Survive,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Three Times a Lady,” “I Am Woman,” “When Will I Be Loved” and many more, Disaster! is Broadway’s side-splitting homage to classic disaster films. The Rooftop Sessions: Moonbeau
Presented by Clifton Cultural Arts Center at Clifton Cultural Arts Center Cincinnati, OH
Christian Gough (guitar/vox) and Callie Budrick (keys/vox) are the husband-wife duo redefining retro pop with their signature blend of irresistible melodies, catchy hooks, and undeniable charisma. Rooted in Cincinnati’s city lights and Northern Kentucky’s rural landscapes, Moonbeau’s music is as expansive as the city skyline and as intimate as a night drive on winding back roads. Influenced by their love of ’80s new wave artists like New Order and The Human League, as well as modern acts like St. Lucia, CHVRCHES, and Nation of Language, Moonbeau creates a nostalgic sound that’s fresh, familiar, and utterly addictive. Their music emanates a dreamy and infectious quality, drawing on the rich palette of synthpop to create lush textures that serve as the foundation of their sound. Signs of New York: Creation of the Music World Mural
Presented by American Sign Museum at American Sign Museum Cincinnati, OH
Signs of New York: Creation of the Music World Mural Thursday, April 16 7 – 8 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) $5 for members, $25 for non-members Join graphic artist Tom Ickert for a discussion of how he created a larger-than-life sign in the Big Apple. A native of Mansfield (the “Fun Center of Ohio”), Tom spent his early years devouring coloring books and drawing on any blank sheet of paper he could get his hands on. Throughout his school years he was involved in any art project that would be thrown his way, from posters to school banners to programs and fliers. It only seemed natural that he would pursue a career in Graphic Design and Illustration so he entered a four-year program at Ohio University.
