This class is perfect for anyone who is looking to play with paint and build confidence with this beautiful, flowing medium. Whether you’re brand new or just want to loosen up your style, this class is all about experimenting, relaxing, and enjoying the process. Dates: Tuesdays, April 7 - 28 (4 weeks) Registration Deadline: April 3 Time: 6 to 9p Ages: Adults (15+*) Instructor: Emily Vaughn Location: Wyoming Fine Arts Center *ages 15, 16, and 17 must be accompanied by an adult. we offer flexible ages for the adult workshop for those who are looking for something fun to do with their teen kid. Week 1: Introductions, materials, & color basics Week 2: Begin small project Week 3: Finish small projects, begin final project Week 4: Finalize project & wrap up Take Home: At minimum 2 completed paintings or more. Skills & Knowledge Earned: Brush control & techniques, water control, color wheel understanding, color mixing, layering, transparency, and confidence All materials and supplies are included in the program cost. Exploring Acrylics: 6 WEEKS: MAR - APR

Discover the joys of painting with acrylics. No other medium can match the versatility and ease of use of acrylics. Clean-up is easy and no toxic materials are required. Acrylics are well suited to almost any subject matter and painting surface. Students can work from still-life or photographs. Participants are asked to bring their own supplies. Click here for a suggested supply list. Please note you do not need to buy all of these supplies. They are just suggestions. At a minimum students should have a basic set of acrylics, various sizes of bushes, a pallet, and something to paint on. Canvas paper is fine. Drawing Fundamentals : 6 WEEKS : MAR - APR

Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. $90 for non-members per 6-week session $81 for members per 6-week session Classes will focus on developing basic drawing skills from direct observation and lighted still life arrangements. Students will learn how to create the illusion of form through the use of shape, perspective and tonal value. Critiques develop students' abilities to think critically about their own work and maintaining their art journal will allow students to record thoughts, experiment with ideas, media, and practice ideas. Each session lasts for six weeks allowing basic skills to build over time. This program is ideal for beginners, as well as more advanced students. Students are asked to bring their own supplies. TAI CHI 6 classes: MAR - APR

Ages 14 - Adult Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. $100 for non-member / $90 for member Learn from the best! Sensei Jeff Moran has been teaching Tai Chi for over 25 years. Sensei Jeff is a lifetime member of PKC Tajuwuka Kai-Do Kemp and 3rd Dan Belt. He was inducted into Sokeship Warriors Council Hall of Champions for a lifetime of dedication to Martial Arts. This Tai Chi class will go through the basics steps and poses in Tai Chi. Classes consist of 20 - 30 minute warm-ups and then move into mind-body practice. Students will learn the meditative quality and health benefits of Tai Chi. This is a rigorous work out in addition to being a meditative practice! Students will do drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Each class will be a different art medium. They will use materials such as, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolors, cut paper and found objects to create their artwork. All supplies included. INTRO to WOODSHOP : APR : Evening

Introduction to Woodshop teaches the basics of woodworking in 3, 3-hour classes. Participants will learn how to use all of the equipment in the shop with the exception of the router table, mortiser and lathe. Important safety rules will be emphasized. Participants will practice on the equipment and then make a small toolbox tote with a handle. The instructor will guide students through the steps of designing, building and finishing their projects. The goal of the class is for students to gain confidence on the equipment so that they may eventually work independently in the shop. This class is a prerequisite for advanced woodshop and mandatory for using the woodshop during open studio time unsupervised. All Supplies are included. In a joyful collision of classical virtuosity and creative reuse, Cincinnati Sandbox features Sandbox Percussion and violinist Kristin Lee in a dynamic program of new music and collaborative experimentation. The centerpiece of the concert is a newly commissioned work by Vivian Fung for percussion quartet (performing on recycled materials) and solo violin, alongside a new composition by the legendary Joan Tower. R ounding out the program, concertnova musicians will perform on instruments built from salvaged materials, created in partnership with community members and local reuse-focused organizations. The project explores the sonic and sculptural possibilities of wood, metal, glass, and found objects, bridging professional artistry with public imagination. Collaborators include Wave Pool, Indigo Hippo, and the Heavy Metal Marching Band.
