Beethoven & Tchaikovsky

The season closes in a dramatic and triumphant fashion with some of the greatest orchestral music ever written. Jennifer Higdon’s brief but striking fanfare sets the tone before Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto opens with a commanding, majestic flourish, instantly igniting a sense of awe. After a moment of lyrical reverie that seems to suspend time, the music propels forward with irrepressible joy and optimism. In contrast, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 delves deep into the human experience, embodying the struggle between fate and the quest for happiness. From its powerful brass fanfare—fate’s ominous call—to the electrifying energy of the finale, the symphony is a deeply cathartic journey through anguish, resilience and eventual exhilaration. Kids Culinary 1-day Workshop : MAY

Kids will have fun learning to cook specific dishes. Students will learn to prepare the dish and eat it in this 1-day workshop. *Please Note - Food items may contain wheat, dairy, nuts and other allergens. This class might not be suitable for those with severe allergies. At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom. The Artwalk under the theme "Art in Motion" will happen the second weekend in May, Friday the 8th & Saturday the 9th 6-10 PM both nights. Now you can enjoy the Flying Pig Marathon & Kentucky Derby the first weekend in May and get a full week of rest before the Essex Studios Spring Art Walk. Celebrate Spring Artwalk by visiting over 40 Essex artist studios open for behind-the-scenes tours of their workspaces and work. Also see the work of 40 guest artists. It's a great opportunity to meet the artists and pick up unique one of a kind art and gifts for your collection, home, business or friends. Party with 100's of other art lovers!
