Throughout June and July, Ohio Civics Essential will host panelists and foster discussions about opioids, marijuana laws, and checks and balances. The events are free and open to the public.
This four-part virtual series will feature two panelists and a moderator, and cover themes like “How Your Government Works,” “How Your Courts Work,” and “Your Power as a Citizen.”
Individuals in need will be able to receive free wireless services that will help them find jobs, attend telehealth appointments, and reach out to family and friends.
Initially, trivia events were supposed to take place at 14 libraries across Ohio. Stay-at-home orders brought those plans to a halt, but the resulting platform was still a success.
The inaugural year of Civics Essential came to a close last month with the season's final game hour at Delaware Main Library, but we rounded up a summer reading — and watching — list to keep you engaged until phase two of the series begins next month.
