Darwin recreated in Second Life

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, the University of Cincinnati has recreated the Galapagos Islands in Second Life.By January 2009, avatars will be able to retrace Darwin’s steps aboard the Beagle and throughout the Galapagos Islands, where Darwin conducted much of his research.According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, archived audio and video clips, as well as live events, will be available in the Darwin Celebration Theater and Gallery.The project is part of UC’s 2009 Darwin Sesquicentennial Celebration.Read the full article here.
