Even with the closure of two well-loved breweries last year (Ei8ht Ball and Blank Slate), Cincinnatians love their beer. The city recently landed itself at no. 4 on Smart Asset’s 2017 list of best cities for beer drinkers.

In each city, Smart Asset looked at the number of microbreweries, the number of microbreweries per 100,000 residents, the number of bars per 100,000 residents, the average Yelp score of breweries and the average price per pint.

This study states that Cincy has 21 microbreweries, but by our count, it’s over 40. Based off the study’s findings, there are seven breweries and 24 bars per 100,000 residents. Cincinnati’s breweries score an average of 4.19 on Yelp, and the price of a pint is about $4.

In 2016, Cincinnati also ranked in the top 10 of this same study, which goes to show that its craft beer culture is still booming.
