$500,000 creates “Janet’s Fund” for training performing arts support staff

The people you never see on stage but who make the performances happen will benefit from a new endowment fund bequeathed by Janet Taylor, a member of the Cincinnati arts community who died in October 2006 at the age of 56. The gift of more than $500,000 will support education and training of operations support staff in the city’s arts community. Janet spent a career working in performing arts management roles, ultimately serving as VP for the Cincinnati Arts Association, and appreciated the people who work backstage. “Janet’s Fund” was created to nurture, encourage, and inspire backstage professionals and volunteers to expand their skills. “This fund will have a lasting impact on the arts community,” says Steve Loftin, president of the Cincinnati Arts Association.
