GBBN Architects expands into Louisville

Cincinnati’s GBBN Architects is expanding, adding an office in Louisville, Ky. to the ones it already has in Cincinnati, Lexington and Beijing, China.

Cincinnati’s GBBN Architects is expanding, adding an office in Louisville, Ky. to the ones it already has in Cincinnati, Lexington and Beijing, China. GBBN specializes in health care projects, with about 45 percent of its book of business being health care based.  In addition to health care, GBBN has design experience in arts and entertainment, education, and development mixed use, inlcuding urban planning, multi-family housing and workplace/office). It’s currently collaborating with Ellerbe Beckett on the $450 million University of Kentucky Patient Care Facility. “We want to provide Louisville and Western Kentucky’s hospitals and health care facilities with our original approach and proven design services,” says David Proffitt, who will oversee the day-to-day operations in Louisville. In the Cincinnati area, GBBN has worked on the new National City Pavilion at Riverbend, St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee and The Ascent.
