Northern Kentucky University has a growing, diverse student population, but some students may not be as connected to the university’s resources, and to each other, as they could be. Using a grant, the university started Amplify NKU, an effort to connect students, particularly BIPOC, LGBTQ, and international students, to the broader life of the university. A key aspect of the program is empowering students, rather than staff or administrators, to share information and create connections as a way to form lasting bonds among peers.

Soapbox Media spoke to NKU students and administrators about the effort in this video.

The video is part of Soapbox’s Amplifying Youth Voices series and was produced by SparkLight Creative Group, Cincinnati.
