Beyond 34 (B34), a recycling initiative developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has chosen Cincinnati as the second city to implement the program, after seeing success in Orlando.
The program is a public-private sector partnership designed to break through the current national recycling barrier of 34 percent. Cincinnati was chosen for its existing commitment to recycling through local policies, recycling education, and data collection, along with existing high recycling rates and the Green Cincinnati Plan, which pledges “zero waste” by 2035.
