Cincinnati’s steady and diversified economy has helped it weather the ups and downs of industry slumps and rampant real estate speculation.

“The benefit of the Cincinnati market always has been that we have a very steady economy,” Karen Schlosser of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors tells USA Today.

While the region has had its share of foreclosures and has seen the effects of an economic slowdown, it hasn’t seen significant job losses.

Schlosser says that this has been a benefit to home buyers – prices have remained favorable, buyers have a wide selection from which to choose, and interest rates are low.
