Xavier University dissects China’s impact on the world economy

With a population of 1.3 billion, an economy growing at about 10 percent annually and market reforms that have opened its economy, China is a dominant global economic force. An interactive panel discussion at Xavier University featuring three China experts will delve into the impact of China’s increasing economic power and globalization. The panelists are some top China academic experts: Oded Shenkar, a Ford Motor Co. chair in global business management at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University; Roger T. Ames, a professor of philosophy at the University of Hawaii and editor of “Philosophy East and West;” and Elizabeth Economy, the C.V. Starr Senior Fellow and Director of Asia Studies for the Council on Foreign Relations. It’s Thursday, April 3, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schiff Family Conference Center in Xavier’s Cintas Center.
