Corporate social responsibility is increasingly being viewed by businesses as a way to not only give back to their communities but to enhance their image. A new company has cropped up to advise firms on how best to create corporate social responsibility programs that reflect the organizations’ values and services. Core Corporate Consulting was started by Deborah Macdonald, an attorney and management professional. Core’s services include corporate social responsibility programs, strategic planning, board governance/counseling, succession planning, and interim management. It’s focusing on organizations in health care, high technology, manufacturing, non-profit, and the arts.

“In this post-Enron world, consumers and businesses alike are paying close attention to how we relate to our fellow citizens,” she says. Macdonald was executive director of the Cris Collinsworth ProScan Foundation and a general counsel for public and private corporations.
