With the installation of its second solar power system, the
Cincinnati Park Board is furthering its mission of greening its operations.
Third Sun Solar and Wind Power of Athens, Ohio recently installed the 10 kW solar array on the Park Board's headquarters building at 3215 Reading Road in Avondale. This array, along with solar and wind systems at their Eden Park building, will allow Cincinnati Parks to lock in part of their power costs for the next 30 years, protecting them from electricity inflation.
According to
RenewableEnergyWorld.com, the renewable energy sources are part of Mayor Mark Mallory's green initiative and are expected to demonstrate the benefits of green energy to city residents.
