Lead singer Matt Berninger praises Cincinnati for giving him a narrative edge saying Cincinnati represents the common American experience with social, racial, and political tensions. Guitarist Bryce Dessner returns to Cincinnati annually to curate the MusicNow festival he started in 2006.
