Arthole's Real Hot Toy Show
Friday, August 6, 6:00 -9:00 p.m.
Prairie Gallery, Northside

Prairie Gallery will open a show by Arthole, a collaboration between Cincinnati artists Kenton Brett, Emily Caito, David Jarred, John Hancock, Aaron Kent and Bekka Sage. Arthole’s Real Hot Toy Show will feature handmade toys, videos and an interactive installation the evening of the opening featuring the "brown gallery," a mini art gallery completely contained inside of a portable toilet which will be installed on Hamilton Avenue in front of Prairie. The work installed in Prairie's main gallery space typifies Arthole's playful take on traditional object based art. The run of the show, which concludes on September 18, will be open to the public during regular gallery hours following the opening, which are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit Prairie's website.

Pig Roast to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Famous Neon's Unplugged, Main Street

The best BBQ in Cincinnati and the best outdoor courtyard bar in Cincinnati are teaming up to help benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. And they're throwing in drinks tickets from Neon's plus a cake and some chocolates from the pastry chef of Jean Robert's former restaurant group. The evening will benefit Clint Watson's campaign for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help control and cure Cystic Fibrosis. $18 for full dinner, drinks and donation to the foundation. A hip and eclectic neighborhood event, Second Sunday includes a street fair with over 60 craft and food vendors and live deejays spinning vinyl all afternoon, a biergarten with live music at Neon's, a free yoga session at 12:30 p.m., a Samba parade at 1:30 p.m. and a tasting with local celebrity chefs Jose Salazar and Summer Genetti from The Palace.
