Original Soapbox series tells story of what's reshaping Cincinnati's neighborhoods

As I look back at the neighborhoods featured in Soapbox's Hot 'Hoods series over the past five weeks, one major similarity strikes me: All of these communities have passionate individuals advocating for their success.

Each of the articles, largely unguided by my editorial hand, revealed the same things: hardworking community foundations, committed developers, engaged citizens—and an optimism that gazes both forward beyond the current obstacles and back to the roots that made their unique communities flourish.

Judging from the avid readership, enthusiastic comments and social media shares, it's clear that these articles struck a chord with Soapbox readers. If you missed one of the community profiles, this is your chance to find out more about the five neighborhoods we believe are poised for growth in 2014.

In each of the following articles, key community members from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky shared their recent achievements and their visions of how they expect their communities to develop in the coming year. We wish them all the best of luck.

After you visit—or revisit—these inspiring stories, let us know about the investment and development going on in your own neighborhood. What's changing in your business district? Are there new shops or initiatives driving progress in your own backyard? What community projects are you contributing to? What is your neighborhood doing well? What could be done better? Get in touch and maybe your neighborhood's story will be the next one we tell.
