Taft Center, a new high-tech meeting and conference center overlooking Fifth Street and Fountain Square, is now under construction.
Taft Stettinius & Hollister (Taft) is building the 7,000-square-foot project on the second floor of the US Bank Tower, which will include a 110-seat theatre-style conference room, a 1,200-square-foot "living room", a 600-square-foot catering kitchen, and smaller meeting rooms and sitting spaces.
All of the spaces will be equipped with Wi-Fi and other high-tech electronics for international conferencing.
KZF Design and Taft worked together to design something that would build upon – and add to – downtown’s positive momentum.
"KZF Design has enjoyed working with Taft to help create and translate their new brand identity into their work environments," says Michael P. Kelley, IIDA, director of interior services at KZF Design. "When Taft decided to occupy the space on the second floor of the US Bank building, the opportunity presented itself to design an environment around their new design image that would also tap into the energy of the City, market the firm, and further assist in the redevelopment of Fountain Square area."
Earlier this year, Taft signed a lease for five floors in the tower that will last through 2023.
"Taft has been an active member of the Cincinnati community for 123 years and this project allows the firm to further participate in and contribute to the vitality of the City center and the region," says Ed Diller, partner-in-charge of Taft's Cincinnati office.
Taft Center is expected to be completed in December.
